The Conference was attended by chairmen and judges of constitutional justice bodies from 11 countries in Europe and Asia, representatives of state bodies and the legal community of Azerbaijan.

The Conference focused on issues related to the national experience of exercising constitutional review, the exercise of the functions of constitutional courts to ensure the supremacy of the Constitution, the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens.

During the plenary session, Petr Miklashevich made a presentation on “Development of Constitutional Justice in the Republic of Belarus in Modern Conditions”.

Working meetings were held with the heads and judges of the constitutional review bodies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. The prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation were discussed, and the commonality of approaches in understanding that each state has a unique system for organising constitutional review was noted, and that, given the rapidly changing circumstances, a constant exchange of experience in this area is important.
