Chairman of Constitutional Court G.A.Vasilevich had informed Mr A.Rigoni about the process of becoming of the institute of the constitutional control in Belarus, recent activities of the Constitutional Court, some interesting decisions. The Constitutional Court actively uses in its decisions international legal documents in the field of the protection of the rights and freedom of the citizens, and also the case law practice of the European Court of human rights. G.A.Vasilevich had given examples of concrete decisions, having emphasized, that the Constitutional Court more than hundred times directly referred in its decisions to the international instruments.
Mr Rigoni expressed an interest to the decision of the Constitutional Court concerning a death penalty. A.Rigoni had expressed the opinion on possible temporary character of this norm and the subsequent moratorium on execution of the verdicts. G.A.Vasilevich emphasized that similar approach was expressed by the Constitutional Court in a final part of the decision on a death penalty.
Participants of a meeting had mutual satisfaction from the meeting and noted about the existence of the general approaches to the decision of problems of a constitutional law and the constitutional justice and similar scientific interests.
In the conclusion of a meeting of A.Rigoni had emphasized, that as the young state, Belarus is making large steps on its way to the construction of modern legal system.
The parties expressed the hope, that new meetings will take place in the future.
