On 6 January 2026 Chairman of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko swore in Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Sivets and the judges of the Constitutional Court Pavel Gridyushko, Aleksandr Karavai, Andrei Kovalchuk, Tatiana Protashchik, and Yelena Semashko

In accordance with Article 75 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Judicial System and Status of Judges, Chairman and judges of the Constitutional Court took the oath, making commitment before the people of the Republic of Belarus to defend the constitutional order and the supremacy of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus honestly, conscientiously, and impartially.

After the ceremony of taking the oath, the Head of State presented the judges of the Constitutional Court with their official certificates and commemorative copies of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Deputy Chairman of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly Aleksandr Kosinets, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, and Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Shved.

Alexander Lukashenko exhorted the judges to conduct their work based on the principle of justice. “Not everything can be written into law. Yet we share one spirit, one foundation, and one guiding principle: justice. And it falls first and foremost to you to uphold it. Be fair to our people and to our nation. I wish you happiness, good health, and a long life. May your work serve the good of our country and our people,” the Head of State said.

During the ceremony, the President also presented state awards to the former heads of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts. The Head of State awarded Valentin Sukalo, Chairman of the Supreme Court (1997–2025), the Order of the Fatherland, 2nd Class, and Piotr Miklashevich, Chairman of the Constitutional Court (2008–2025), the Order of the Fatherland, 3rd Class. They were honoured for their many years of fruitful work, high professionalism, and significant personal contribution to improving the judicial system and ensuring constitutional legality.
