During the meeting, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court noted that the changes made to the Constitution at the 2022 republican referendum are aimed at strengthening the constitutional framework for regulating the democratic structure of society and the state, the system of state power, the interaction of the individual, society and the state, and are a strategic guideline for future development of Belarus.
Petr Miklashevich spoke about the essence of changes and additions to the Constitution, the preservation of the presidential form of government, clarifying the status and functions of the President, Parliament, and Government.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening the social protection of individuals: securing guarantees of support for families with children; the values of family and marriage as a union of a man and a woman; pension guarantees; equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The Chairman of the Constitutional Court answered questions from students about establishing the constitutional status of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly as the highest representative body of the people’s government, the protection of personal data, the importance of ensuring timely legal regulation of the further development of the information and digital space, artificial intelligence technologies and other issues.
