On 11 March 2024 Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Petr Miklashevich presented passports to young citizens

The Belarusian campaign “We are Citizens of Belarus!” dedicated to the Constitution Day was held together with the Belarusian Republican Youth Union in the Constitutional Court. During the solemn ceremony Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Petr Miklashevich presented passports to 14-year-old young citizens – A grade students, participants of scientific and practical conferences, winners and prize-winners of republican Olympiads.

Petr Miklashevich noted that on 27 February 2022, at the republican referendum, significant changes and additions were made to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. The provisions on the rights and duties of individuals have been adjusted.

On the one hand, the state guarantees the rights and freedoms of citizens and creates conditions for free and dignified development of the individual. On the other hand, every citizen shall make an appropriate contribution to the development of society and the state.

Addressing those present, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court emphasised that today they are exercising the constitutional right to education in order to further contribute to the development of our beautiful country on a constitutional basis through their work.

Petr Miklashevich wished the young citizens further success in their studies, to become multi-skilled individuals, and also expressed confidence that obtaining a passport would be the beginning of their journey as active citizens of Belarus.
