At the meeting of the Eurasian Association of Constitutional Review Bodies, the Statute of the Association was adopted, issues of participation in the 5th Congress of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice and other issues of interaction between constitutional courts to exchange experience in the field of constitutional review were discussed.
Representatives of the constitutional review bodies of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bangladesh, Germany, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Morocco, Moldova, Serbia, Thailand, Ukraine and other countries took part in the International Symposium “The Internet Era: the Rule of Law, the Values of Person, the State Independence”.
Issues of judicial protection and ensuring guarantees of constitutional rights in the Internet era, implementation of the principle of the rule of law and protection of national sovereignty in the context of digitalisation and evolution of legal systems were at the centre of discussions.
Natallia Karpovich made a presentation on the topic “Information Security of the State and Society: Human Rights”, pointing out that information technologies are actively developing in the Republic of Belarus, measures are being taken to ensure the security of individuals and society when using digital data. The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus in its decisions has formulated legal positions aimed at guaranteeing constitutional rights to information, protection from illegal interference in personal life in the context of digitalisation.
