On 5 July 2021 the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of certain laws of the Republic of Belarus in the exercise of the obligatory preliminary review

On 5 July 2021, by virtue of Article 116.1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, Article 22.3.2 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Judicial System and Status of Judges, Articles 98 and 101.1 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Constitutional Proceedings”, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the following laws of the Republic of Belarus, adopted by the House of Representatives and approved by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review:

“On Approval of the Report on the Execution of the Republican Budget for 2020” (reporting judge – Tatyana Boiko);

“On Approval of the Report on the Execution of the Budget of the State Extra-Budgetary Fund of Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Belarus for 2020” (reporting judge – Liliya Kozyreva).

Based on the results of consideration the said laws were recognised to be conforming to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time the Constitutional Court stated its legal positions aimed to clarify the constitutional and legal meaning of certain provisions of the reviewed laws.
