On 2–3 July 2021 the 127th plenary session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) was held in a hybrid form. Deputy Chairwoman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Natallia Karpovich took part in the plenary session as an associate member of the Venice Commission on behalf of the Republic of Belarus.
During this session the Venice Commission adopted the opinions on the amendments to the Constitution of Hungary, on the compatibility with international human rights standards of a series of draft laws of the Russian Federation affecting “foreign agents”, on the compatibility with international human rights standards of Law of Turkey on the Prevention of Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction, on draft amendments to the electoral codes of Armenia and Georgia, etc.
During the plenary session Natallia Karpovich informed the Venice Commission on the work of the Constitutional Commission on the preparation of proposals on amending the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus relating to the competence of the Constitutional Court.
