The Constitutional Court together with the Belarusian Republican Youth Union held All-Belarusian patriotic campaign “We Are the Citizens of Belarus” timed to the Constitution Day. Chairman of the Constitutional Court Petr Miklashevich solemnly presented passports of the Republic of Belarus to 14-year-old young citizens – excellent students, participants of scientific and practical conferences, winners and prize-winners of school contests.
Addressing young people, Petr Miklashevich noted that the passport they have just received certifies the identity and confirms belonging to the Belarusian citizenship.
The Republic of Belarus has created conditions for free and dignified development of the personality, the exercise of the individuals’ rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. The Constitution not only defines the basic rights of individuals and establishes guarantees for their exercise, but also establishes obligations – to observe the Constitution and laws, to respect national traditions, dignity, rights and freedoms of others.
Chairman of the Constitutional Court wished young people excellent academic achievements, physical and spiritual development, as well as to be persistent in achieving their life goals, responsible and law-abiding in performing the constitutional duties.
