The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus has considered the constitutionality of some laws in accordance with the procedure of obligatory preliminary control

During the period from June 30 to July 11, 2008 according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 26 June 2008 No. 14 “On some measures on the improvement of the activity of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus” the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus in accordance with the procedure of the obligatory preliminary control has considered the constitutionality of 65 laws of the Republic of Belarus and has delivered decisions on its conformity to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

In particular, the Constitutional Court considered laws of the Republic of Belarus “On the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus”, “On the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus”, “On Mass Media”, “On the register of the Population” and also the Budget Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Mineral Wealth, the Land Code of the Republic of Belarus.

In some laws the Constitutional Court paid attention to issues concerning more complete and consecutive realization of the constitutional principles and norms.

Decisions were published in the Bulletin of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus "Vestnik Konstitutsionnogo Suda Respubliki Belarus".
