On 11–12 October 2019 the 120th plenary session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) was held in Venice (Italy). Deputy Chairwoman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Natallia Karpovich took part in the plenary session as a representative of the Venice Commission for the Republic of Belarus.
During this session the Venice Commission adopted the opinions on the draft Law on the reform of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, on the draft Law of Albania on the finalisation of transitional ownership processes, on the draft amendments to the Judicial Code of Armenia, etc.
The Commission was informed on follow-up to the Joint opinion on the draft law on the legislative initiative of the citizens (Albania), Joint opinion on the law for amending and completing certain legislative acts (Electoral system for the election of Parliament) (Moldova), Opinion on the draft election code of Ukraine, etc.
The Commission was also informed on constitutional developments in Great Britain, Ireland and other countries. A range of other issues of constitutional and legal significance was discussed.
