In the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the laws of the Republic of Belarus
On 10 and 11 June 2019, by virtue of Article 116.1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, Article 22.3.2 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Judicial System and Status of Judges, Article 98 and Article 101.1 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On the Constitutional Proceedings” in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the following laws of the Republic of Belarus, adopted by the House of Representatives and approved by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
“On Radiation Safety” (reporting judge – Sergei Chigrinov);
“On Making Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues” (reporting judge – Anatoly Tikovenko);
“On Making Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Assisted Reproductive Technologies” (reporting judge – Anatoly Tikovenko);
“On Making Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Postal Communication” (reporting judge – Sergei Chigrinov);
“On Making Amendments to Certain Laws” (reporting judge – Natallia Karpovich).
Based on the results of consideration the said laws were recognised to be conforming to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time, the Constitutional Court stated its legal positions aimed to clarify the constitutional and legal meaning of certain provisions of the reviewed laws.
