On 26 and 29 April 2019 in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the laws of the Republic of Belarus
On 26 and 29 April 2019,by virtue of Article 116.1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, Article 22.3.2 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Judicial System and Status of Judges, Article 98 and Article 101.1 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On the Constitutional Proceedings» in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the laws of the Republic of Belarus “On Making Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Waste Management” (reporting judge – Anatoly Tikovenko) and “On Making Amendments to Laws on Legal Regulation of Housing Relations” (reporting judge – Olga Sergeeva), adopted by the House of Representatives and approved by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
Based on the results of consideration the said laws were recognised to be conforming to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time the Constitutional Court stated its legal positions aimed to clarify the constitutional and legal meaning of certain provisions of the reviewed laws.
