Meeting of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Petr Miklashevich with the delegation of the Prosecutor-General’s Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by the Attorney-General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri
On 22 November the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Petr Miklashevich held a meeting with the delegation of the Prosecutor-General’s Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by the Attorney-General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri.
Mr Petr Miklashevich informed members of the delegation about the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, which is the legal basis of the life of the Belarusian society and the state, competence and procedure of formation of the Constitutional Court, its interaction with the Parliament and the President, development of the constitutional review and role of the Constitutional Court in ensuring the supremacy and direct effect of the Constitution.
In his turn the Attorney-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Jafar Montazeri informed the participants of the system of state power, judicial bodies, their competence, the procedure of appointment of judges, as well as the activities of the Guardian Council carrying out the functions of the constitutional review.
The parties exchanged opinions on specific legal issues, noted the importance of development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Iran underlining the importance of cooperation in the legal sphere.
