On 8 July 2016 in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the laws of the Republic of Belarus «On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Land Code of the Republic of Belarus», «On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Employment of the Population of the Republic of Belarus», «On Making Alterations and Addenda to Certain Laws of the Republic of Belarus on Fighting Corruption» and others
By virtue of Article 116.1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, Article 22.3.2 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Judicial System and Status of Judges, Article 98 and Article 101.1 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On the Constitutional Proceedings» in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the laws of the Republic of Belarus adopted by the House of Representatives and approved by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
«On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Land Code of the Republic of Belarus» (reporting judge – Olga Sergeeva);
«On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Employment of the Population of the Republic of Belarus» (reporting judge – Sergei Chigrinov);
«On Making Alterations and Addenda to Certain Laws of the Republic of Belarus on Fighting Corruption» (reporting judge – Tadeush Voronovich);
«On Making Alterations and an Addendum to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Social Protection Guarantees for Orphans, Children Deprived of Parental Care as well as Those Referred to as Orphans and Children Deprived of Parental Care» (reporting judge – Valentina Podgrusha);
«On Making Addenda and Alterations to Certain Laws of the Republic of Belarus on Flora Resources Treatment» (reporting judge – Leonid Ryabtsev);
«On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Tourism» (reporting judge – Sergei Chigrinov);
«On Making Alterations and Addenda to Certain Laws of the Republic of Belarus on Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, Their Precursors and Analogues» (reporting judge – Olga Sergeeva);
«On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences and the Procedural and Executive Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences» (reporting judge – Stanislav Danilyuk);
«On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On the Procedure and Conditions of Detention of Persons in Custody» (reporting judge – Stanislav Danilyuk).
Based on the results of consideration the laws were recognised to be conforming to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time the Constitutional Court stated its legal positions aimed to clarify the constitutional and legal meaning of certain rules of the laws.
