Meeting with the representatives of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ)
On 21 June 2016 the Deputy Chairwoman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Olga Sergeeva held a meeting with the Deputy Director of the IRZ, Dr. Stefan Hülshörster.
During the meeting Ms Olga Sergeeva informed the guests on the development of the constitutional review in the Republic of Belarus, access of individuals to constitutional justice, implementation of international standards of the human rights in national legislation and law enforcement practice, as well as on the participation of the Constitutional Court in the international organisations on constitutional justice.
Dr. Stefan Hülshörster underlined the crucial role of constitutional courts in strengthening the level of public legal awareness. He expressed the interest of the IRZ in cooperation through theoretical and practical conferences and seminars on the improvement of mechanisms for the protection of the human rights, individual constitutional complaint, formation of the pan-European legal space.
The representatives of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus and the IRZ expressed their intention to develop cooperation in these fields.

The German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) works on behalf of the Federal German Government in assisting states that wish to reform and modernise their legal systems, in particular their judiciaries. The IRZ was founded in 1992 under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Justice and has had the experience of international legal cooperation with more than 30 countries. The development of the constitutional principles of a democratic state based on the rule of law within the European understanding of the human rights is among its priorities. The IRZ has cooperated with the Republic of Belarus since 1993.
