Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Petr P. Miklashevich took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Constitution: Unity, Stability, Prosperity” devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan which was held on 28-29 August 2015 in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan).
Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Petr P. Miklashevich made a presentation on “The Constitution: Stability and Dynamism of Social and State Development”.
The Conference was attended by the members of the Government, the chairmen and deputies of the Chambers of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delegations of international organisations, the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, the heads of constitutional review bodies and courts from 28 countries, as well as by prominent scientists in the field of law, political scientists and experts.
During the Conference issues of the role of the Constitution in social and state development, observance of the constitutional rights and freedoms, current challenges for ensuring the rule of law, the role of the constitutional review in ensuring the supremacy of the Constitution were discussed.
