In the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of laws of the Republic of Belarus

On December 26, 2013 in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the following laws of the Republic of Belarus adopted by the House of Representatives and approved by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:

«On Making Addenda and Alterations to the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Judicial System and Status of Judges» (reporting judge – Olga G. Sergeeva);

«On Making Addenda and Alterations to certain laws of the Republic of Belarus on Legal Status of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Republic of Belarus» (reporting judge – Sergei P. Chigrinov);

«On Making Addenda and Alterations to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Military Duty and Military Service» (reporting judge – Stanislav Y. Danilyuk);

«On Making Addenda and Alterations to the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Education» (reporting judge – Vladimir P. Isotko);

«On Making Addenda and Alterations to the Code of the Republic of Belarus of Administrative Offences and Procedural Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences» (reporting judge – Leonid M. Ryabtsev);

and other laws.

Based on the results of consideration the said laws were recognised to be conforming to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time the Constitutional Court stated its legal positions aimed to clarify the constitutional and legal meaning of certain provisions of the reviewed laws.
