On November 21, 2013 the meeting of Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Petr P. Miklashevich with the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Turkey led by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mr. Cemil Çiçek was held in the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus.

Petr P. Miklashevich informed the Turkish parliamentarians on the competence of the Constitutional Court and its role in establishing supremacy of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus in the life of society and state. He noted that interaction between the Constitutional Court and the Parliament is based on the constitutional basis by the way of obligatory preliminary review of the constitutionality of all the laws adopted by the Parliament before their signing by the President of the Republic of Belarus.

Petr P. Miklashevich also noted that during his visit in 2012 he had the opportunity to see the importance of the Constitutional Court in the development of Turkey as a democratic state based on the rule of law. He expressed satisfaction with the achieved level of cooperation between the constitutional review bodies of Belarus and Turkey.

In his turn, the President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Cemil Çiçek expressed his gratitude for the meeting and noted fruitfulness of relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Turkey in various fields. He emphasised importance of cooperation in the field of constitutional justice.
