In the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of laws of the Republic of Belarus

On November 21, 2013 in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the following laws of the Republic of Belarus adopted by the House of Representatives and approved by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:

«On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On the Population Register» (reporting judge – Valentina V. Podgrusha);

«On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on Cooperation in the Field of Defense Industry » (reporting judge – Anatoly G. Tikovenko);

«On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Tax Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income» (reporting judge – Sergei P. Chigrinov);

«On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Mutual Visa Abolition» (reporting judge – Petr P. Miklashevich).

«On Ratification of the Treaty between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Serbia on Legal Assistance in Civil and Criminal Cases» (reporting judge – Petr P. Miklashevich).

«On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Singapore on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Tax Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income» (reporting judge – Petr P. Miklashevich).

«On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Singapore on Visa Abolition for Holders of Diplomatic or Official Passports» (reporting judge – Petr P. Miklashevich).

Based on the results of consideration the said laws were recognised to be conforming to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time the Constitutional Court stated its legal positions aimed to clarify the constitutional and legal meaning of certain provisions of the reviewed laws.
