On April 23, 2013 in the exercise of obligatory preliminary review the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of the following laws of the Republic of Belarus adopted by the House of Representatives and approved by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:

“On Making Alterations and Addenda to Certain Laws of the Republic of Belarus” (reporting judge – Olga G. Sergeeva);

“On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Subsoil Code of the Republic of Belarus” (reporting judge – Tadeush V. Voronovich);

“On Seed Production” (reporting judge – Anatoly G. Tikovenko);

“On the Ratification of the Amendments to the International Finance Corporation Articles of Agreement” (reporting judge – Petr P. Miklashevich);

“On Ratification of the Protocol to the Convention between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of Turkmenistan on the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital (Assets) of 17 May 2002” (reporting judge – Petr P. Miklashevich).

Based on the results of consideration the said laws were recognized to be conforming to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time the Constitutional Court stated its legal positions aimed to clarify the constitutional and legal meaning of certain provisions of the reviewed laws.
