Annotation

The article researches the nature of legal values and their significance for normative legal acts on the basis of the analysed works of philosophers and lawyers, the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Belarus, the constitutions of foreign countries, the messages of the Constitutional Court on constitutional legality in the Republic of Belarus. The author gives a definition of the law taking into account the role of constitutional values in law-making.

Guliyakevich D.L. Constitutional basics of the interaction of international and national law in the sphere of child protection from socially dangerous offences

Annotation

The article presents an analysis of international legal instruments that embody the attitude of the international community to protection of children from socially dangerous offences. Based on the analysis made, the level of implementation of international legal standards within the framework of the national legislation has been estimated. It is to be pointed out that, compared to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus of 1960, the current Criminal Code is rather progressive as far as criminal responsibility of children, as well as their protection from criminal offences are concerned. It is highlighted that the norms of international law are not fully implemented in the Criminal Code, so a conclusion can be made that national legislation should be further improved in the analyzed sphere.
