Alexander V. Maryskin, Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus, participated in the 85th Plenary Session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission)

On 17–18 December 2010 in Venice was held the 85th Plenary Session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission). Alexander V. Maryskin, Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus, participated in the Session as an associate member of the Commission.

The Commission presented its recent activities, addressed the framework of its co-operation with the Council of Europe bodies, namely the Committee of Ministers, the Parliamentary Assembly, the Congress of local and regional authorities. The Commission was informed on follow-up to its earlier opinions and was invited to examine the draft opinions on the draft laws of Armenia, Bulgaria, Norway, Russian Federation, Turkey, Ukraine. It also considered some other business.
