The International seminar «The Constitutional Court role in the development of the institutes of constitutional laws and freedom of citizens realisation» took place.

On the 22 of September 2009 took place the International seminar «The Constitutional Court role in the development of the institutes of constitutional laws and freedom of citizens realisation». It was organised by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation.

Judges of the Constitutional, Supreme and Supreme Economic courts, representatives of Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, House of Representatives and Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Ministry of Justice, National Centre of Legislation and Legal Research, Academy of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs, advocates, representatives of scientific legal community have taken part in the seminar from the Belarusian side.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Miklashevich P.P., Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Maryskin A.V., judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Podgrusha V.V., and foreign experts – professor Otto Luchterhandt (Hamburg University), doctor Matthias Hartwig (Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Heidelberg), judge of the Constitutional Court of the Ukraine Kolos M.I. came forward with the reports.

During the seminar participants have discussed questions, concerning powers of the constitutional courts, role of the constitutional control in the legal mechanism of the securing of the rights and freedom of citizens, optimisation of means of the constitutional protection, correlation and distribution of powers between the constitutional courts and European Court on Human Rights.
