On the 11 of September 2009 in the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus was held the meeting of Petr Miklashevich, Chairman thereof, with the delegation of the Supreme People’s General Prosecutor’s Office of China headed by Ke Hanmin, Deputy Prosecutor General of the People’s Republic of China.
The information meeting took place during the visit of the delegation of the Supreme People’s General Prosecutor’s Office of China to the Belarusian General Prosecutor’s Office.
Petr Miklashevich gave line to the guests on the composition, formation procedure and competency of the Constitutional Court as well as the subjects entitled to forward motions to it with a view to get the statement of the Court on the conformity of normative legal acts to the Constitution. He also touched upon the question of new powers coferred to the Constitutional Court by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 14 and practical exercise of obligatory preliminary constitutional control of laws.
The members of the delegation of the Supreme People’s General Prosecutor’s Office of China were interested in the provided information and put a few questions on the activity of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus and the place thereof in the system of public authorities.
In the end the meeting participants pointed out the indisputable benefit of co-operation between law enforcement bodies of different countries and emphasised friendly relations between public authorities of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China.
