The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus exercised the obligatory preliminary constitutional control of eight laws of the Republic of Belarus

In accordance with the Decree № 14 of the President of the Republic of Belarus of June 26, 2008 “On Some Measures to Improve the Activities of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus” in the procedure of obligatory preliminary control the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered the constitutionality of eight laws of the Republic of Belarus. 

The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus considered in particular the laws of the Republic of Belarus “On State Security”, “On Making an Alteration to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Culture in the Republic of Belarus”, “On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On the Status of a Deputy in a Local Council of Deputies”, “On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Road Traffic”, “On Making Alterations and Addenda to Certain Laws of the Republic of Belarus Regarding Social Security of the Citizens Who Suffered from the Catastrophe at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Other Radiation Accidents”, “On Making Alterations and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus”, “On Ratification of the Treaty between the Republic of Belarus and the Syrian Arab Republic on Legal Assistance in Civil and Criminal Cases”, “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Regard to Taxes on Income”. Based on the results of consideration all the laws were recognised to be conforming to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

Decisions were published in the Bulletin of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus “Viesnik Kanstytucyjnaha Suda Respubliki Belarus”.
