During the meeting, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Siarhei Sivets informed about the activities of the Constitutional Court, its powers and case-law, the procedure for electing Constitutional Court judges by the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, the mechanism for exercising their powers, and the legal force of their decisions.
Chairman of the EAEU Court focused on the jurisdiction of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union, the procedure for appealing to the Court and the disputes it hears, and the appointment of judges by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council upon the nomination of member states.
Possible prospects and current areas of cooperation between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus and the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union were also discussed.
The parties agreed to continue close interaction and cooperation on issues related to the administration of justice at both national and supranational levels.
