  • Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Valentina V. Podgrusha

Born in 1949 in the village of Sheiky, the Kletsk district, the Minsk region.
 
In 1974 graduated from Law Faculty of the Belarusian State University.
 
Started her career as a lecturer of the Department of Civil and Family Law in the Belarusian State University.
 
Since 1980 till 1986 − an adviser, chief adviser in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.
 
In 1986-1987 − a specialist, senior specialist of the Law Department of the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
 
Since 1987 worked as a Head of the Department of Systematisation of Legislation and Elaboration of Draft Laws, Head of the Department of Draft Law Legislation, Head of the Department of State and Social Development in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus. In March 1991 appointed Deputy Minister of Justice.
 
Headed the working group on elaboration of the Civil Code of the Republic of Belarus, participated in the elaboration of a number of other draft laws, namely the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, Marriage and Family Code of the Republic of Belarus. Took part in the elaboration of the Model Civil Code for the CIS Member States.
 
Since April 1994 − Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus.
 
Author of more than 150 publications in the field of constitutional, civil, labour, marriage and family law as well as of a number of tutorials, manuals and commentaries to the Civil Code of the Republic of Belarus, Marriage and Family Code of the Republic of Belarus, Housing Code of the Republic of Belarus (in co-authorship).
 
Has the highest classification class. Honoured Lawyer of the Republic of Belarus. In 2012 awarded with the Order of Honour, in 1999 − with the medal “For Labour Merits”. In February 1999 received the Commendation of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
